Our Vision

To empower the vulnerable in our soceity

To provide an effective Appropriate Adult service in a non-judgemental, non-discriminatory manner to every child, young person or vulnerable adult referred to us. We aim to ensure that all vulnerable individuals are safeguarded; treated fairly with respect; are afforded their legal rights and entitlements; to help them to participate effectively during interviews while in custody suites. Gracious Havem aims to empower children, young people, their families, vulnerable adults and professionals to make well informed decisions and choice that will ensure effectiveness of the support. We hope to grow our service and to be able to support children, young people and vulnerable adults throughout the UK.

Gracious Haven provides specialist advocacy support services in East and West Midlands to meet the needs of children and vulnerable people during challenging times.

We aim to work closely with key partners in the Local Authorities and Criminal Justice services to ensure those we work with are safeguarded and appropriately supported.

Appropriate Adults help to ensure police are acting properly and fairly in accordance with PACE Code C. We provide a 24/7, 365 days a year service.

Excellent Services

Well trained and experienced Appropriate Adults, who are empathetic, professional and independent of policing. We are guided by the National Standards, PACE code C; other relevant codes and current legislation.

Qualified Workers

Gracious Haven staff are trained by NAAN and DBS checked.
Gracious Haven is a NAAN Silver member and guided by the National Standards for the development and provision of appropriate adult schemes in England and Wales.
